TECHNICAL GAME DESIGNER

REPORTS TO: LEAD GAME DESIGNER

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Participate in the creative development of the project and helping with prototyping and production of game elements;
• Create the design documentation for the different game elements and systems;
• Drive prototyping of different gameplay;
• Prototype and implement gameplay from high level design documents, advocating for scalable and goal-achieving solutions;
• Collaborate with the various trades (design, animation and programming).

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Relevant experience in Game Design in the video game industry;
• Minimum of a title published as a Technical Game Designer or similar;
• Experience in scripting or programming;
• Experience in solving quickly and efficiently problems that arise from tools or scripts;
• A passion for problem solving and working with varied game systems;
• Knowledge of the principles of game design: camera, control, character;
• In-depth knowledge of the technical constraints of the game engines and the different production stages;
• Experienced with visual scripting graphs, such as Unreal Blueprint and Unity Bolt;
• Knowledge of a programming language;
• Familiarity with the debugging tools of Visual Studio;
• Experienced with various game production scales (e.g. open world and indie), an asset.
