Buckland is looking for a Manager, Warehouse

What you’ll be doing

The Manager, Warehouse Operations is responsible for the direct management and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions at the warehouse facilities. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures. The Warehouse Manager will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills

 

You will be responsible for…

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all shipping orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Implements and monitors performance metrics for shipping and receiving.
  • Communicate all delays or variances in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate parties.
  • Maintain strict control over inventory levels to meet internal and external demand of product, by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.
  • Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse and equipment by planning and implementing new design layouts: inspecting equipment; issuing work order for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Manage and analysis an annual budget or capital investment plan for warehousing functions and work with the Manager of Southern Border to initiate corrective actions.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Develop and maintain constant interaction with Clients, Clients Suppliers, Carriers, Transportation Companies, and other parties involved in the logistic chain of Buckland and its customers.

 

What we need from you

  • Degree or diploma in International Trade, Logistics, Business, or related discipline
  • Solid understanding of Mexican customs
  • Must have valid passport and be willing and able to travel within Canada, US, and Mexico 25% of the time.
  • Operation Management experience, such as Developing departmental KPI’s, Reporting, Budgets

 

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • 5 + years proven Warehouse leadership, international trade, logistics and shipping experience.
  • Experience with Mexican Customs process, Revision, JIT an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish/English) is necessary.
  • Safety Management, Inventory Control, Analyzing Information.
  • Team leadership and teambuilding abilities
