Buckland is looking for an Intermediate Air/Ocean Analyst

What you’ll be doing

This position reports to the Team Leader, Air/Ocean and is responsible for handling of the documentation preparation, monitoring and coordinating of customs release of shipments for the import of commercial goods into Canada in accordance with the Customs Act. Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers in acquiring the proper import documentation in a timely manner.

You will be responsible for

  • To accurately prepare customs and internal documents with minimal to no guidance
  • Capability to handle the more complex customs entries with minimal guidance.
  • Completion of high volume of entries as defined by performance benchmarking.
  • Ability to resolve issues that arise with Customs clearance (reject notices, eManifest errors, paper packages, RMD Corrections) with minimal guidance.
  • Knowledge of all FTA’s and when to apply them to shipments.
  • Ability to accurately complete final Invoicing of customs entries to CBSA within the allotted timeframe
  • Reviewing accuracy of entries completed by other Team members as required.
  • Handling queries in a prompt, efficient and professional manner
  • Efficiently clearing and tracing shipments through to delivery
  • Request payment, original documents, and send delivery instructions as required.
  • Liaise with Freight Department
  • Servicing and reporting of any issues to Team Leader, Air/Ocean, or Supervisor
  • Supporting fellow team members and Team Leader with tasks as needed/required.
  • Performing work in accordance with Buckland policy and procedure
  • Nurture client relationships to ensure repeat business.
  • Performing other clerical office duties or projects as assigned

 

 

What we need from you

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • Solid knowledge of basic functionality of CCApp preferred.
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently perform internet parts search.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to work effectively while under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Accurate and fast keyboarding skill
  • Basic knowledge of customs and related paperwork
  • Basic understanding of the import process for Air & Ocean imports from origin to final destination
  • Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel to Canada.

 

 

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Professional communication skills
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills as well good time management capabilities.
  • 2+ years of industry experience and FTA basic knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel and Word
