About the Position:

The Senior Financial Analyst, is an integral role within the Investment Finance Team, that reports into the Vice President of Investment Finance and Asset Management. This role is responsible for timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting for the Equiton Group of companies and will also conduct asset valuations across the Equiton portfolio.

This position will collaborate with various teams including Acquisitions, Development, Property Management & Operations, Asset Management, Legal, Institutional Fund Raise, Marketing and Accounting to deliver strategic analysis while applying best practices in all Equiton financial reporting. 

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with customized financial and operational metrics required for Investor fund-raising initiatives and reporting
  • Participate in preparation of fund-raising presentations and other materials
  • Establish, monitor and manage internal portfolio level financial and operational performance and key performance indicators reporting
  • Evaluate property level performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Develop tools and perform market research, data mining, business intelligence and property level benchmark tracking
  • Analyze financial market and other benchmark data for decision-making support
  • Provide support to Asset Management, Property Management & Operations, as well as providing financial analysis and insights for the company as a whole
  • Provide the Equiton Sales departments with performance trends and information utilized in sales efforts
  • Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and rules, as well as government requirements
  • Ad hoc requests from CFO, Finance and Institutional Investments Team

Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field of study
  • CFA or in process
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector
  • Understand of IFRS, GAAP and auditing standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
  • Experienced in the due diligence and M&A
  • Strong experience in both financial reporting and financial modelling is required
