We are searching for a Project Quality Lead for our Mount Pearl, Newfoundland office who believes Quality isn’t just a word but a commitment.

With a team of designers, engineers, naval architects, administrators, and technical support dispersed between locations, Genoa provides expertise and dedicated support throughout the shipbuilding process. Currently, Genoa is active in major government initiatives such as Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) and in commercial contracts in shipyards throughout North America.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Project Quality Lead, you'll be the driving force behind our quality initiatives. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, setting the tone for quality expectations and ensuring that quality is at the forefront of every decision. Your expertise will be crucial in upholding our reputation for top-tier products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and oversight of project quality control and assurance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Responsible for reporting on quality to the project team.
  • Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Creating weekly quality dashboards and metrics.
  • Investigating defects/deficiencies and develop/implement mitigation plans for quality improvement.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Responsible for ensuring project Nonconformances (NC) are addressed.
  • Client liaison for quality.
  • Responsible for monthly quality meetings with client.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously enhance our quality processes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED IN YOUR TOOLKIT

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a quality related field, or a combination of relevant experience and education.
  • 5-10 years of proven experience in quality management, preferably in shipbuilding.
  • Strong knowledge of quality standards, methodologies, and tools.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading quality initiatives.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Problem-solving orientation with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practice
  • Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple responsibilities. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
