As part of the Finance and Accounting Team, you will help support the Operations, Receivables, and Payables teams and lead the financial reporting for the Greater Montréal Area. The role is responsible for preparing internal monthly financial statements and related analysis as well identifying opportunities to design, construct, and provide recommendations that will improve overall performance.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Timely and accurate production of property financial reports, variance analysis, NOI analysis, and account reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Preparing and reviewing day-to-day transactions as part of a full accounting cycle, with the ultimate responsibility to ensure that all accounting entries are accurate and complete for period ends.
  • Producing high quality financial analysis in a timely manner to ensure that the Operations and Management team have the key insights to drive business and operational decisions.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing financial models and tools to help evaluate property performance including expense and revenue analysis.
  • Continuously seeking opportunities for improvement and to recommend and assist in enacting solutions to improve reporting, processes, and financial models.
  • Interfacing and regularly communicating with various teams throughout the organization and with Management to better understand reporting and analysis needs and deliver accordingly.
  • Assisting in production of a timely and supported annual budget.
  • Assisting with strengthening internal controls and monitoring adherence to financial operation policies.
  • Other duties within the nature and spirit of the job, as required.

Must Haves 

  • Minimum of 3 years business experience within real estate accounting
  • Knowledge of Yardi systems is considered and asset
  • CPA designation an asset
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft programs
  • Excellent organization and attention to details
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Self-motivation and initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time and activities efficiently
