Senior Logistics Manager

 

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable. 

 

MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental social, and economic wellbeing – and fosters the participation of Indigenous businesses. Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford and London as well as a hub and distribution center in Oakville.

 

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Senior Logistics Manager to support our Logistics team and work out of our Oakville Distribution Centre or 1 Dundas St W, Toronto 

 

Position Overview

The Senior Logistics Manager role is an individual contributor role that will support all service lines through operational support, analytics, and leading solutions implementations.  The Logistics Team provides logistics service to over 70 hospital sites including distribution, in-hospital logistics as well as supporting a collaboration with Supply Ontario.  If you are an experienced logistics professional with skills in operations, analytics, and project leadership in a complex supply chain environment, with strong stakeholder management skills this is a role for you. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise and leadership to support MMC Logistics Service Lines through operations support, operations analysis, logistics planning, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Play a key role in costing, designing, configuring and implementing new distribution centres.
  • Lead the onboarding and implementation of new hospitals into MMC distribution centres.
  • Lead the research, identification, opportunity assessment and implementation of strategic automation and AI initiatives.
  • Identify and lead the analytics of logistics improvement initiatives including but not limited to slotting, operational processes, technology, and inventory management.
  • Key team member of RFP requirements and selection processes for service providers, technology and automation equipment.
  • Work with Senior MMC Team to support and develop the MMC distribution strategy.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

Candidates must have a blend of expertise outlined in the candidate profile and will include all, or a good portion, of the following:

 

  • Experienced logistics professional that can provide a strong mix of logistics expertise including distribution operations, in-depth analytical skills, inventory management, transportation, project management, and strong stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional analytical skills from data collection, manipulation, analysis to recommendation.
  • Experience with Third Party Logistics Providers (3PLs) either through direct work experience or through previous 3PL management.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a complex supply chain environment
  • High level working knowledge of inventory management principles, distribution, and warehouse operations.
  • Healthcare and/or PPE supply chain experience related experience is an asset. 
  • Ability to build sound relationships, to influence and motivate various internal resources along with client stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and communicate with all levels of management, customers, peers, suppliers, and staff.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and warehouse management systems an asset.
  • Academic foundation will include a University Degree or College Diploma
  • Industrial Engineer education, P. Log or CITT Certification considered assets. 

 

Travel

 

  • Main office location: Oakville Distribution Centre or 1 Dundas St W, Toronto
  • Ability to travel to other Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
