Manager, IT Business Solutions

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental social, and economic wellbeing – and fosters the participation of Indigenous businesses. Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford, and London as well as a hub and distribution centre in Oakville.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Manager, Applications Management to support our IT team.  

 

Position Overview

 

Reporting to the Director, Business Solutions the Manager, Applications Management will work with business and IT teams, and with service delivery partners, to identify and deliver business solution improvements that bring value to MMC and its Members.

 

Business Solutions is part of the MMC ITS (Integrated Technology Solution) Ongoing Support Services, which is responsible for operating a large scale, high availability, SAP environment which first went live in November 2011, delivering customer service and support to 8,000 users. This position will play a senior role within the ITS Ongoing Support Services team by identifying, managing, and delivering superior business solutions to its customers.

 

Considerable experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with demonstrated high degree of project ownership and accountability is required. Breadth and depth of knowledge across the following areas: SAP ECC and S/4HANA (MM/IM, SD), Ariba (Sourcing, Contract Management, Buying, Supplier Mgmt., Network), SRM/MDM and integration with other applications/modules (EWM, FI/CO, MI, PI, BW/BI, HANA, SCP, SAC)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as IT lead for the SCM (Supply Chain Management) portfolio and supporting projects.
  • Act as SAP subject matter expert regarding best practices, maintenance support, system integration, ongoing projects, technical review, etc.
  • Work with business leaders to identify opportunities to leverage the current MMC system portfolio to deliver value for MMC and its members.
  • Facilitate the implementation and support of business systems, SAP modules, and integrated solutions to enhance the business functionality and overall performance for Member Hospitals and MMC, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction
  • Analyze current Supply Chain business processes and scenarios and recommend/develop solutions to meet the requirements for improvements.
  • Provide senior level business analysis, solution delivery, and project management including business case development, scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, risk assessment, testing, change management, budgets, and value measurement.
  • Oversee design, configuration support, and testing in various SAP SCM modules and functions.
  • Provide insight and guidance regarding business and systems rationale for planned and actual changes.
  • Utilize industry experience and benchmarks to evaluate the effectiveness of methodologies applied during the application delivery process.
  • Participate and contribute to strategic and functional excellence initiatives identified within the IT department.
  • Track, monitor, and communicate projects/program status.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of changes, for audit and legal compliance.
  • Produce high quality deliverables including business requirements, project plans, test plans, test scenarios/cases, functional designs, knowledge transfer materials, etc., as well as blueprints and project charters where appropriate.
  • Provide quality assurance of documentation, testing, configuration, and development completed by third parties.
  • Participate in and support the effective operation of board-approved IT Governance
  • Follow and improve MMC policies, procedures, methodologies, and standards to ensure effective planning and delivery of ITS services, management of vendors and customers, and maintenance of the ‘one build’ concept in the shared services environment.
  • Maintain the tools and repositories of ITS knowledge materials for efficient and effective operation and utilization.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

 

  • 12+ years of related business applications management experience within an SAP environments, integration, and deployments, etc.
  • At least 5+ years spent in management, and/or leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in managing a cross-functional team of business analysts, developers, contractors, and project leads.
  • Experience working in Supply Chain functionality (business processes and system processing) in SAP ECC, S/4 HANA, Ariba, and other non-SAP tools.
  • University degree or College diploma or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in taking initiative and driving project/program delivery.
  • High-quality written, verbal, and interpersonal skills along with an attention to detail, including the ability to prepare and deliver process documentation and specifications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, setting goals and meeting timelines.
  • Proven experience managing delivery of projects and/or program management.
  • Workshop facilitation and meeting leadership experience, including provision of appropriate documentation.
  • Experience working in successful third-party vendor relationships.
  • Strong analytical and program/project management skills
  • Proven experience working with SAP S/4HANA, ECC, Ariba
  • SAP certification in is desirable.
  • Experience working in supply chain and/or shared services, public sector is preferred is desirable.

Travel

 

  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
