Strategic Sourcing Associate - Redevelopment 

 

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

MMC is actively supporting the creation of a resilient value chain that incorporates environmental social, and economic wellbeing – and fosters the participation of Indigenous businesses. Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford and London as well as a hub and distribution centre in Oakville.

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Redevelopment Associate to support our Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E) team.  

 

Position Overview

 

The Redevelopment Associate reports to the Senior Category Manager of Redevelopment and is responsible for leading sourcing and contracting initiatives to assist clients in managing the overall cost impact to their business.  This position manages basic to medium complexity RFx processes for approved capital equipment, goods, professional services and consulting initiatives in the Capital Planning and Redevelopment category. The Redevelopment Associate will apply a Total Cost of Ownership approach to procurements involving Capital equipment and should have strong analytical and interpersonal skills to properly assess hospital needs and build partnerships.

 

Key Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Lead procurement for all Not-In-Contract FF&E including identification of existing Agreements, 2nd Stage evaluations, Piggyback agreements, quotes and other RFx processes as needed.
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate the evaluations including any request for clarifications and monitor selection of the successful proponent.
  • Facilitate finalization of all NIC FF&E configurations with clinical user groups, including make, model, quantities, accessories, and options
  • Gather and analyze supplier data and information to perform simple financial analysis and determine best value opportunities.
  • Negotiate total cost of ownership of all NIC FF&E and redevelopment specific terms and conditions which may include, but not limited to training, warranty deferral, held pricing, delivery to construction site, clinical acceptance post opening day, etc.
  • Prepare Executive Summary packages for all NIC FF&E bundles according to Hospital’s Signing Authority and facilitate sign-off in EchoSign/DocuSign.
  • Administer document control and distribution to appropriate project stakeholders.
  • Provide timely communication of project status with internal and external customers and escalate issues to Manager as appropriate.
  • Support the Buyer dedicated to the project as required for agreement finalization, including requisition, PO and contract management.
  • Maintain final documentation for all NIC FF&E and provide hand-off to the Hospital with project close-out forms for every bundle.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Capital Planning and Redevelopment, as assigned by the Sr. Manager

Compliance

  • Provide oversight and procurement guidance and ensure compliance with the Broader Public Sector Directives (BPSPD), applicable trade agreements, and the Hospital’s procurement policies
  • Ensure the procurement process is followed according to existing hospital policies and procedures.

Reporting

  • Maintain project dashboard and provide weekly reports on procurement status to project team.
  • Reporting, tracking, and maintaining internal documents.
  • Tracking project timelines and actualizing cost impact.
  • Track and report cost savings, based on established guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records (in line with BPSPD).

 

Qualifications and Skills

Education

  • College diploma in science, business, supply chain, or related field
  • University degree in business is an asset
  • Mediation/ negotiation training is an asset
  • Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP), Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) or Certified Public Procurement Buyer (CPPB) is an asset.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of sourcing experience, preferably in a healthcare environment

Knowledge and understanding

  • BPS Procurement Directives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MGCS/ SSO/GPO is an asset
  • Knowledge of public sector construction projects

Technical Skills

  • Advanced computer skills required (Microsoft Office applications)
  • Medium to Advanced Excel skills
  • Familiarity with online RFx posting sites (e.g. Bonfire, Biddingo)
  • Project Management skills

Personal Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral), able to interface directly with others in a competent and confident manner. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an integrated team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritize among multiple demands.
  • Attention to detail.

 

Travel

 

  • Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
