Job Summary:

Responsible for investigating, evaluating, and settling insurance claims. Determines policy coverage for the claimed loss and appropriate compensation amount.

 

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Works closely with veterinary hospitals, and policyholders to evaluate and review a pet’s medical history to determine a baseline of health.
  • Investigates and processes assigned insurance claims, verifies coverage, and compensation amounts, per insurance policy.
  • Updates Explanation of Benefits (EOB), pays and closes claim.
  • May order medical records from providers.
  • May communicate with clients and providers during treatment.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

Experience:1-year relevant experience

Education: Must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience (One-year relevant experience is equivalent to one-year college)
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

 

Licenses/Certifications:

Must have and maintain Adjusters.

License or must obtain within 90 days of hire.

 

Other:

Internal hires/promotions must meet quality & productivity expectations.

 

Level Specific Responsibilities:

Processes, evaluates, adjusts, and resolves non-complex, standard claims in accordance with prescribed authority and best claims practices.

 

Accountability/Complexity:

  • Works independently on moderately complex projects/assignments and seeks guidance on projects/assignments of higher complexity.
  • May provides assistance and training to lower-level employees.
  • Problems typically are not routine and require analysis to understand.
