We’re looking for our next Associate Portfolio Manager. Could It Be You?
The purpose of the Associate Portfolio Manager (APM)is to manage assets and client relationships to maximize the results of Questrade Wealth Management’s (QWM) business. Under the supervision of the Portfolio Manager, the APM will engage in suitability assessment for new and existing clients and handle client’s inquiries. The APM will work closely with technology, trade desk, compliance, sales, and operations departments to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and maximize overall operational efficiency.
What’s it like working as an Associate Portfolio Manager at Questrade?
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the APM will engage with new leads and qualified prospects to increase the total Assets Under Management (AUM) for the Questwealth Portfolios. The APM is responsible for assisting Portfolio Managers in managing assets, daily trading, and advising Questwealth Portfolios clients. The APM will engage in daily operational activities, stay up to date with capital markets.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support Portfolio Manager with client interactions and follow-up processes
- Build relationships with clients and ensure the top-notch client experience
- Support onboarding clients to Questwealth Portfolios
- Assist the Portfolio Manager in collecting and analyzing customer information to determine the suitability
- Assist in preparing daily trades
- Assist in conducting suitability assessment
- Gain expert knowledge of Questwealth Portfolios
- Assist in conducting performance calculations
- Gain a thorough understanding of the capital markets and trading
- Keep current on QWM’s policies and procedures
- Participate in ad hoc growth and business development projects and initiatives
So are YOU our next Associate Portfolio Manager? You are if you…
- Either successful completion of CFA Level 1 exam or Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation and have 24 months of relevant investment management experience
- Must be registered or meet the requirement to become immediately registered with the OSC as Associate Portfolio Manager (Associate Advising Representative)
- Extensive understanding of IIROC and OSC regulations and how they impact operational processes and policies
- Expertise in financial planning and managing portfolios using ETFs would be an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to build and manage client relationships
- Strong analytical skills to analyze data as well as understand and interpret client needs
- Ability to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment
