RAM is a technical consultancy providing Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. RAM is searching for a motivated and experienced individual in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team.


  • Support the Lead, Corporate HSE with the implementation and maintenance of the Corporate Safety Program
  • Review incident reports to detect problem areas related to employee safety. Gather evidence and prepare reports on violations, complaints and incidents/injuries.
  • Provide mentorship to new and young workers. Work directly with RAM's employees, consultants, contractors, and others to facilitate the understanding of Health and Safety initiatives;
  • Support development of proposals and marketing for Safety Management services; and
  • Other duties as required


  • Develop client specific HSE Programs, Plans and Procedures;
  • Ensure Project Specific Health and Safety Management Plans are prepared, reviewed and implemented;
  • Review contractor and/or subcontractor HSE plans and procedures, ensuring all contractors and subcontractors are in compliance with current OHS regulation, legislation, and project safety requirements;
  • Provide on-site support to projects as required, providing:
    • Facilitation and/ or lead near miss and/or incident investigations, including elaboration and follow up of corrective and preventative actions and reports;
    • Ensure contractors and subcontractors are following their approved site-specific Safety Management plan and approved Safe Work Practices;
    • Lead and participate in project Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee meetings, as applicable; and
    • Attend other project meetings, as required.
  • Ensure detailed reports on project safety and environmental performance are prepared and submitted for management review, including Monthly Safety and Environmental Reports for Major Projects;
  • Be responsible for implementing RAM's safety culture and objective of zero incidents across projects; and
  • In conjunction with others, ensure RAM is in compliance with the duties and obligations of Prime Contractor as defined by WorkSafe BC, where applicable.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
  • Occupational Health & Safety Diploma with 5+ years experience in the field.
  • Develop, review, and update health and safety policies/procedures/practices to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), or equivalent would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong familiarity with provincial and federal health and safety regulations in British Columbia, including knowledge of WorkSafeBC and other relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Prior experience in the Engineering/Construction industry, preferably in a safety-related role.
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate potential hazards. This may include knowledge of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and hazard identification.
  • Experience in designing and delivering safety training programs for employees at all levels. This could include orientation for new hires, ongoing training, and specialized training for high-risk tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and conduct thorough incident investigations, including near misses and accidents. This includes root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
  • Experience in conducting regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This includes familiarity with creating and maintaining safety inspection checklists.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, first aid protocols, and coordination with local emergency services.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for creating and disseminating safety policies, procedures, and reports. 
  • Familiarity with safety management software and tools for data tracking, reporting, and analysis. 
  • The ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • The capacity to adapt to changing situations and proactively identify and resolve safety-related challenges.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards in health, safety, and environmental practices.
