RAM is a technical consultancy providing Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. RAM is searching for a motivated and experienced individual in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team.

Team Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to their team with respect to hiring, objectives, performance reviews, and development plans/ training for their team members.
  • In conjunction with the Principal, OHS, develop the overarching strategy for the department to meet RAM’s Vision and 5 year plan.
  • Develop, monitor, measure, and report on the department’s fiscal objectives, including positive teamwork, increased efficiency and profitable sales growth.
  • Monitor and report progress and financials not limited to billability, gross margin, gross revenue, project profitability on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, and make adjustments where necessary to achieve targets.         
  • Develop and maintain a resource loaded schedule and coordinate resources requirements. Identify resource fluctuations and assist with recruiting, training and retaining key staff, as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submittal and approval of team’s timesheets and invoices for all department projects. Manage, review, and approve time and expenses for department’s indirect budget.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of relevant department tools, including digital solutions and documentation.
  • Ensures RAM’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) Management System is implemented by their team, and that all applicable stakeholder requirements/ regulations are met.
  • Ensures a high-performance and client-oriented team which supports achieving the RAM mission, strategic plan, objectives, and core values.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • May act as a key contact on select projects/contracts with clients, stakeholders and subconsultants.
  • Manage programs including program initiation, planning, and resourcing.
  • Chair formal status/feedback meetings with active clients/projects and record meeting minutes.
  • Ensure requirements are clearly understood by the project personnel where applicable.
  • Reviewing and auditing team deliverables for consistency and adequacy of services
  • Serving as an escalation point for team concerns or issues, lead conflict management or dispute resolution and escalating issues to client and/or Director if required.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Lead Business Development and Marketing opportunities and initiatives to grow and maintain RAM’s client base and revenue targets for the department and organization. Collaborate with other departments to actively promote RAM and all service lines.
  • Host and lead meetings with client contacts as well as prepare presentations and other supporting content.
  • Lead and participate in RFP process for various opportunities, including methodology, expertise, time, and cost estimates.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and subconsultants with support of RAM’s Supply Chain team.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

Required:

  • Experience in client facing roles
  • Self-motivated, excellent planner and communicator and ability to manage multiple projects and client portfolios
  • Strong leader with the ability to coach and collaborate with diverse teams, champion continuous improvement and lead positive change
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and client portfolios.
  • High self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
  • Willingness and ability to operate and lead through times of rapid pace of change and/or growth .
  • One or combination of:
    • Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety from a recognized Post-Secondary Institute plus at least 8 years of relevant industry experience
    • Other recognized formal education plus 10 years of industry experience, and/or
    • Professional designation in a relevant field (ex: CRSP, CHSC)
  • Interest in networking and growing business. Experience leading and participating in RFP/Proposal submissions and other opportunities.
  • Experience in resource management, financial reporting, invoicing, and estimating.
  • Fluent in English (writing, reading, speaking).
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite and an aptitude for digital solutions and software.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.

 

 Preferred:

  • Experience in a professional consulting services work environment
  • Experience with heavy civil and/or infrastructure projects including marine, transportation, utilities, energy, building/facility, and an understanding of relevant codes, standards, and guidelines which apply
  • Experience working on behalf of an Owner and a Prime Contractor
