Civil EIT
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and technical support to designers, drafters and members of the Engineering team, generally focusing on EV Charging projects;
- Provide engineering services including, design, calculations, assessment, reporting, sketches, field reviews, quality reviews, preparation of documents and engineering review;
- Provide project managerial services for engineering projects;
- Prepare and review technical drawings;
- Conduct site investigations/inspections;
- Provide technical support to Field Personnel;
- Provide engineering technical support;
- Attendance at meetings, both internal and external;
- Other engineering services and related services as required;
- Sealing and technical review of documents, following receipt of P.Eng certification;
- Support ongoing development and continued improvement of the Engineering team, documentation, standards, and requirements
- Provide support to the overall Project Delivery team, as required;
- Lead and support Civil Engineering proposals, as required;
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- 4+ years of experience under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer for local utility, transportation, and pipeline projects;
- Eligible and actively pursuing a P.Eng designation with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or GIS software.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices, including knowledge of design codes and standards.
- Experience with site design, grading, drainage, and utilities design.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
- Willingness to continue learning and staying updated on advancements in the field of civil engineering.
- Experience with project documentation, including reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
