Compensation: $53,00-$70,00 per year flexible work arrangements,

Each large-scale exhibition travels globally for 5-7 years with multiple exhibits on the road simultaneously. Smaller exhibitions tour across Northern Ontario and Canada for 1-3 years.

 

As the Manager, Travelling Exhibition Services, you will lead Science North’s portfolio of travelling exhibitions, including an installation team of technical specialists. You will also support incoming exhibitions to Science North and the development of new travelling exhibitions related to travelability, efficient installation, and ease of maintenance. You will be a key member of the Project and Exhibit Services team which includes project managers, technical specialists, exhibit logistics, and science communicators. The successful candidate must be willing and able to occasionally travel internationally.

 

In this role you will:

  • Manage a team of technical specialists who work remotely at client locations to install and de-install exhibitions
  • Define deliverables, identify resources, and lead logistics for travelling exhibition tours
  • Manage day-to-day operations to meet financial goals
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing unit to nurture client relationships and promote future sales opportunities
  • Advance health & safety procedures for travelling staff and promote a culture of safety in all work locations
  • Lead the installation and support of incoming travelling exhibitions to Science North
  • Develop and maintain Exhibition Tour schedules and budgets
  • Provide ongoing customer support and build strong relationships with science centre and museum clients
  • Participate as a key member of the project team in the development of new travelling exhibitions to maximize performance, travelability and efficiency
  • Support Science North initiatives and best practices for sustainability, accessibility, equity, diversity, and reconciliation. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Experience leading teams and managing operational goals
  • Familiar with Office 365 and Microsoft Teams 
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written 
  • Strong interest in relationship-building and customer service 
  • Willingness to create and support a collaborative team environment 
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities 
  • Aptitude for resourceful problem-solving and innovation  
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion

 

Compensation package highlights:

  • Competitive salary package range ($53,700 to $70,000 per year)
