We are currently seeking: 

Rig Electricians

 

 

Surepoint is currently hiring Rig Electricians for a 3 month build in Nisku!
Contractors are welcome to apply.

The applicant must have a continual focus on safety, cost control and client satisfaction when performing the duties of this position. The applicant must also have an attention to detail to meet and exceed client needs and expectations, as well as the ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.  Applicant must be able to meet the physical demands of the job and exercise initiative and good judgment with the ability to multi-task. Must be willing to travel for work and be able to work extended shift structures.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driving Record
  • Journeyman Certificate or Registered Apprentice
  • Drilling rig contruction or service experience - asset but not required
  • Rigid pipe installation experience - asset but not required
  • Drilling rig systems and compnents experience  - asset but not required

 

Applicants must exert, as a minimum the ability to:

  • Troubleshoot and repair AC & DC Drilling Rig: Generators, generator load distribution systems, power distribution, motor starters, motor soft starters, motors, Programmable Logic Controllers, Electronic and Electrical on Top Drive Units, lighting circuits, electronic circuits on Caterpillar engines, air condition units, and electronic systems controlling hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Make sure that all Electrical Safety Protocols are being followed, including Lock Out Tag Out, while working on Electrical Equipment.
  • Install and wire in new and upgraded electrical equipment following prints and schematics.
  • Conduct daily, electrical inspections on all area drilling rigs to safety  standards, prepare reports with supporting pictures of discrepancies. Respond to immediate electrical hazards, exercise stop work when necessary, and notify the appropriate personnel of existing hazards.
  • Prepare parts list, order parts, and repair equipment discrepancies.
  • Must have the ability to be self-driven and work independently
