Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the successful candidate will drive content forward for the organization.  They will have visibility over all content creation requests across the team.  A project task master, this person is an experienced communicator who can deliver best in class communication and introduce emerging concepts in content development and delivery methods that have not been explored yet to maximize audience and stakeholder reach.  

Essential Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in English, Communication, Media Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
  • Work experience in public relations, content marketing, and/or social media coordination or related field.
  • 5+ years work experience preferred.
  • Experience in a health care setting is an asset.
  • Ability to identify trends, content gaps and target audience preferences.
  • Highly skilled in multi-media channels, digital marketing, online/web content curation, SEO, and ability to link those to channel strategies.   
  • Ability to manage the overall content strategy, provide editorial oversight, and supervise team content tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience in short-form video content development and visual content development is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and very strong customer service orientation 
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a wide range of professionals.
  • Ability to work with high accuracy and detail.
  • Proven ability to be a team player while leading and providing guidance and consultation to front line employees.
  • A criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate. 
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable access to an insured working vehicle.

Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Employment Agreement. 

Salary Range: $44.66/hr to $50.23/hr (70 hours in a two-week period).  
OMERS pension and a comprehensive Health and Dental benefits package upon completion of the probationary period.

A criminal reference check completed within the last six (6) months from a Canadian Police Information Centre (CPID), inclusive of vulnerable sector screening, will be required of the successful candidate. 

Immunization Requirements: Provide documentation you have received two (2) doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, plus at least one booster dose, and acknowledgement to follow Southwestern Public Health's policies and processes related to COVID-19 management in the workplace.
