RESEARCH ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS FOR RESEARCH & INNOVATION
CHS Global Partnerships for Research & Innovation has an opening for a Research Administrative Assistant based in Toronto. Reporting to the Director of Research Programs, the Research Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and logistical support related to Global Partnerships’ grants, committees as well as well as activities related to innovation, CHS’ scholarship program, and other projects under the Director’s and/or Global Partnerships’ and umbrella.
This will be a permanent, full-time position working Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This is also a hybrid role and will include working onsite at our Toronto office (271 Spadina Road) when required.
This position will involve coordinating pre-award proposal submissions and reporting post-award, grant closeout activities, monitoring progress of research and innovation projects, compiling and maintaining databases encompassing articles, researchers, unfunded proposals and funded projects, coordinating events and conferences, and serving as the primary administrator on grant management software.
As well, this role will provide administrative and logistical support to CHS’ Scholarship Program including communicating with scholarship applicants, recipients and donors; administering scholarship applications, evaluations, and disbursements; processing funds; and maintaining accurate records and databases.
This position is also part of the administrative support to the Executive Leadership Team so attention to detail and accuracy is paramount.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary degree/diploma in business or office administration combined with a minimum of 3-5 years’ senior administrative support experience, preferably within a research or academic setting. You also have exceptional presentation and written communication skills, which enable you to translate complicated scientific concepts for a range of audiences.
As well, you have expert knowledge and proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications along with experience with grant management software and are comfortable designing and implementing systems to collect, maintain, and analyze data.
You have excellent interpersonal skills and can easily adapt to changing needs and circumstances, including keeping up to date on current regulatory guidelines, and can handle a busy environment including managing a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines.
