What you’ll be doing

The Strategic Business Partner will report to the Chief Strategy Officer and will play a leadership role in supporting and collaborating with all levels of management. The Strategic Business Partner will manage competing priorities to drive system implementations, strategic initiatives, culture shift and enhance organizational efficiency.

As an integral part of our organization, the Strategic Business Partner will take ownership of schedules, assist senior leaders in tracking and reporting progress on OKR’s, and ensure seamless communication and coordination across various stakeholders. This role requires a proactive individual who will be responsible for initiating, planning, and executing various projects and work streams.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated to implement solutions having a passion for new technology, finance, and project management.  Having proven success across all lines of business, and an understanding of the executive leadership vision you will be well positioned for career advancement at Buckland.

You will be responsible for

  • Self-starter who can operate independently and move quickly from one task to another; creative problem solver, seeks “win-win” solutions; energized by challenges with superb attention to detail
  • Creatively solves problems; finding solutions to improve operational performance
  • Financial modelling experience using Microsoft suite, including Power BI, Power Query, Power Apps.
  • Manage OKR process including updating OKRs, tracking & reporting progress
  • Leading projects by following Project Management principles in an Agile environment
  • Prioritizing and analyzing executive leadership calendar and advise what can be taken off their plate and personally manage
  • Plan events such as onsite cross functional team building activities and project kick-offs, as needed
  • Serve as a liaison between executives and various departments, ensuring deliverables are in line with set expectations
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance strategic planning and execution
  • Stay informed with industry trends and best practices
  • Other duties as required

 

What we need from you

  • Postgraduate or Professional designation such as HBA, MBA, CPA, P. Log, P. Eng, etc.. is required
  • Positive attitude and a passion for customer service and supporting others
  • Ability to work independently and discreetly, demonstrating diplomacy, judgment, and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects with impeccable follow through
  • Strong finance acumen, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated high-level administrative experience, high flexibility, and responsiveness
  • Approachable and effective communicator across various communication channels and with all levels of the organization
  • Experience in a strategic executive support role
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Proficient in using productivity tools and software
  • Ability to travel within Canada, to the United States and/or Mexico – 30% travel required
